Genesys funding round attracts USD 580 million

Customer service communications platform specialist Genesys attracted USD 580 million during its last funding round. The financing was led by Salesforce Ventures and included participation from ServiceNow Ventures, Zoom Video Communications, BlackRock, D1 Capital Partners and another mutual fund manager from the West Coast. Genesys said it will use the money to strengthen its leadership in the 'Experience as a Service' market. The funding puts the valuation of Genesys at USD 21 billion. 

Genesys was advised by Goldman Sachs as exclusive placement agent and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom as legal counsel.

Since the implementation of Genesys Engage, Affinbank reports it has reduced its operational costs, improved telesales capability by 50 percent, and reduced the average call abandonment rate by 40 percent

Thai state-owned operator TOT has adopted the Genesys Cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) platform to enable its contact centres to manage the increase in call volumes during the COVID-19 outbreak. The Genesys service allowed TOT agents to via various digital channels such as email, web chat, and social media in addition to traditional phone calls.
