Google, Lenovo team up for 'Kids Space' feature on Android tablets
Google has announced the launch of a new child-friendly mode for Android tablets called Kids Space, initially available on Lenovo’s new Tab M10 HD Gen 2. The search giant said it responded to increasing demand from parents for engaging content with parental control by creating a dedicated kids mode with curated apps, books and videos for kids to explore and learn from under ‘Make’, ‘Read’ and ‘Watch’ tabs.

The offerings are designed for children under 9 years of age and include popular children’s books in the ‘Read’ section, with over 400 free books available in the US alone. In the ‘Watch’ and ‘Make’ tabs, kids can view creative videos from YouTube Kids that encourage off-screen activities, while parents can also download additional content from Google Play if they want to customise the experience even more.

Kids Space requires a Google Account for the child and is currently available as a pre-loaded feature on Lenovo’s latest tablet, with more Android tablets to be added soon.
