HMD Global CEO steps down with immediate effect
HMD Global announced that its CEO Arto Nummela is stepping down with immediate effect. The resignation was a mutual agreement between the board and CEO, the company added, without providing a reason for the sudden departure.

Chairman Sam Chin thanked Nummela for his contribution to starting up the company and the launch of its first products. HMD Global is the new owner of the Nokia brand for mobile phones and has just launched its first Android smartphones under the name. Nummela was previously a top executive at Nokia prior to the sale of its phone business to Microsoft.

The company named President Florian Seiche as acting CEO. He has been co-leading HMD Global as President since the start of the company. Seiche was also a former Nokia executive, after several years at HTC and previously working at Orange.
