Samsung seeks new trial of US Apple patent case

Samsung has asked for a new trial of its US patent case against Apple, reports the Financial Times. Samsung claims that the foreman of the jury may have been biased by an undisclosed lawsuit. It said that he did not tell the court that he was sued for breach of contract in 1993 by Seagate, computer storage maker in which Samsung now has an interest. The jury found that Samsung had infringed Apple patents and awarded the US company USD 1 billion in damages.
