Sky to bring Apple TV+ to Sky Glass, Sky Q customers in UK

Sky has announced an agreement with Apple to bring Apple TV+ to Sky Glass and Sky Q later in 2021. Sky customers in the UK will also be able to access Sky Go on Apple TV devices from mid-2022.

NOW customers in the UK will be able to sign up and buy NOW Membership plans through the NOW app on Apple devices. This announcement is part of a wider global partnership between Apple and Sky parent company Comcast.

Sky said it has signed a new long-term partnership agreement with Apple to add the Apple TV+ app to Sky Q and Sky Glass for viewers in Germany, Austria and Italy. The agreement coincides with the launch of Sky Glass, Sky's new streaming TV, in the UK. Customers in the UK and Ireland can also watch Apple TV+ on Sky. Apple TV+ will be available on Sky Glass and Sky Q in the coming months.

Apple revenues hit record high in Q4 but chip shortages still plague

Apple said sales for its fiscal fourth quarter to 25 September advanced 29 percent from the year before, slower than in the previous quarter, but still hit a record USD 83.4 billion. The operating profit meanwhile lifted to USD 23.78 billion from 14.77 billion, while the net profit increased to USD 20.55 billion from 12.67 billion.

Comcast Q3 revenues, EBITDA up over 18% as both cable, media growing

Comcast reported double-digit growth in third-quarter results, led by a recovery in media and theme parks and continued strength in broadband and mobile customer growth at its cable business. Net profit doubled year-on-year to USD 4.0 billion, adjusted EBITDA increased 18.1 percent to USD 9.0 billion, and revenues were up 18.7 percent to USD 30.3 billion. Comcast generated USD 3.2 billion in free cash flow and spent USD 2.7 billion on share buybacks and dividends in the quarter.
