T-Mobile Poland launches Supernet Video zero-rated service

T-Mobile Poland is introducing the new service Supernet Video, which allows zero-rated data for video services. There is a new trend of viewing video content on mobile devices, with customers today viewing three times more films on mobile devices than on desktop computers and laptops. The trend is confirmed by figures from YouTube, which says 70 percent of content is viewed on mobile devices and the forecast that by 2020, 75 percent of online content will be video. T-Mobile claims to be the only player to declare openly that mobile video makes up one of the key directions of network development. The data volumes transferred by T‑Mobile's customers, not only on the LTE network, have increased more than two times compared with 2016. Nearly half of that volume was video.

Globally, it is expected that this year, 75 percent of internet traffic will be via mobile devices and already, the majority of customers consider mobile devices to be the most important ones for online services. According to Andreas Maierhofer, CEO of T‑Mobile Poland, as mobile access is a priority today, the operator wants to be the one of first choice. T-Mobile claims to offer the best option for those watching video on smartphones.

T-Mobile Poland has introduced the new offer Supernet Video, under which data consumption is not charged for when using applications of the most popular video and VoD services. The list of current partners reflects the current preference of the Polish public and includes YouTube, Netflix, Vevo, TVP Stream, TVP Sport, Player, Showmax, VOD.pl and Chili Cinema. The catalogue of services will be gradually extended.

The offer is available for all current and new customers of the 'T' tariff, in two options: in DVD quality for PLN 5 and in full HD (1080 pixels) quality for PLN 15.

At the same time, T-Mobile is extending the possibilities of new 'T' tariffs, which already offer social media and communication applications with zero rating for data. Together with video, they make up 50 percent of all traffic on the operator's network.

Supernet Video can be activated and deactivated in any billing period, and customers can freely change between the DVD and HD options.

The operator has also developed special sets in which Supernet Video is included in a subscription. The offers are based on the tariff T2, so that communications and social media applications do not spend data from the package, either. In those configurations, the service Supernet Video is free for the whole contract period.

Customers can choose from the following options: Supernet Video DVD without telephone, Supernet Video DVD with telephone and Supernet Video HD with telephone. All options include unlimited calls, SMS and MMS to all fixed and mobile networks in Poland. The first two options include 5 GB data and cost PLN 49.95 a month and PLN 69.95 a month respectively. The highest dearest option provides 10 GB of data and costs PLN 99.95 a month.

The new offer is promoted by an advertising campaign, prepared in cooperation with the agency Bridge2FUN. Starcom Mediavest Group was responsible for media planning and purchase. The company LiquidThread provided advertising on the internet. The social media campaign was provided by Agencja Warszawa. BTL materials were prepared by the agency ARC Worldwide.
