DT confirms zero-rated streaming for MagentaMobil customers
Deutsche Telekom has confirmed plans to offer its mobile customers free music and video streaming. With the new StreamOn option, MagentaMobil customers get zero-rated data on the M plan for music and on the L, L Plus, L Premium and L Premium plus plans for music and video from 19 April.

The offer applies for new and existing subscribers, for streaming from a range of designated providers, including Apple Music, Amazon music and video, Napster, Netflix, Sky Go, YouTube, ZDF and others. DT said the offer is open to any streaming provider and it expects to add more partners soon.

Customers with a MagentaEins subscription, which includes both fixed and mobile services from Telekom, will also receive the free streaming offer, with an added bonus of near HD quality for the video streaming. Telekom said other customers will receive "mobile-optimised" video quality, similar to DVDs.

The new offer follows the introduction of the StreamOn daily option last autumn, which offers unlimited data for 24 hours for EUR 4.95. Telekom has also increased the amount of data in its mobile plans since then. The company already offers a similar zero-rated streaming offer in the US.
