Hrvatski Telekom introduces zero-rated streaming

Croatian operator Hrvatski Telekom has become the latest member of the Deutsche Telekom group to introduce a new mobile tariff with unlimited streaming for selected applications. Aimed at young people, the monthly plan comes with 3 GB of data, unlimited calls on-net, 400 minutes and SMS to other networks, and rollover of any unused minutes, SMS and GB to the next month. The main novelty is the unlimited use of YouTube, Netflix, HBO Go and Pickbox via the Stream On service, without consuming the data traffic included in the package. The new tariff costs HRK 149 per month.

Hrvatski Telekom promotes zero-rating plan with sailing trip

Croatian operator Hrvatski Telekom has launched a contest to promote its 'Tarifa za mlade', with zero-rated streaming for popular video websites. Customers need to submit a video, animation or photo of their team on the website dozivivise.hr by 18 June in order to stand a chance to win a one-week sailing trip for six people The new tariff for younger users includes 3 GB of data traffic and unlimited YouTube, Netflix, HBO Go and Pickbox via the StreamOn zero-rated data option.

Hrvatski Telekom launches Croatia's largest IT project

Hrvatski Telekom has launched what it says is the largest IT project in Croatia. The primary goal is to raise the standards of service quality and customer experience to a new level. HT will invest a total of HRK 710 million in this project and the implementation will be supported by partners IBM, NetCracker, Comarch Technologies and Atos and subcontractors Neos, Croz, Multicom and Zira.

Hrvatski Telekom deploys first smart public phone booths

Croatian operator Hrvatski Telekom and local start-up Vendotel have installed the first smart public phone booths in the country as part of a six month trial. A total of ten such booths have been installed at the busiest locations in Zadar, providing numerous ICT services 24 hours a day. These include free access to the Wi-Fi network and the possibility of buying parking tickets and tickets for interurban transport.

DT confirms zero-rated streaming for MagentaMobil customers

Deutsche Telekom has confirmed plans to offer its mobile customers free music and video streaming. With the new StreamOn option, MagentaMobil customers get zero-rated data on the M plan for music and on the L, L Plus, L Premium and L Premium plus plans for music and video from 19 April. The offer applies for new and existing subscribers, for streaming from a range of designated providers, including Apple Music, Amazon music and video, Napster, Netflix, Sky Go, YouTube, ZDF and others.

Hrvatski Telekom introduces eSim service

Croatian operator Hrvatski Telekom introduced the new eSim service as the first in the Deutsche Telekom Group. Based on GSMA standards, the commercial eSim offering is set to become the new way of providing telecom services, replacing the use of physical Sim cards and enabling internet connections for an increasing number of devices, HT said. The first device offered by Hrvatski Telekom that supports the eSim service will be the Huawei Watch 2 smartwatch.

Croatian operator Hrvatski Telekom has introduced the Moj Telekom mobile application, enabling users to easily manage all of their telecom services. The application provides an overview of costs in real time and will enable users to pay their bills by credit and debit cards, with maximum transaction security. It is also possible to activate or deactivate the options included in the selected package and to make additional top-ups for Hrvatski Telekom and Simpa users.

Hrvatski Telekom confirms layoffs

Croatian operator Hrvatski Telekom has confirmed press reports of 100 about layoffs, as part of efforts to maintain operational efficiency and support long-term, sustainable growth. Employees who leave the company receive severance pay of HRK 230,000 on average, equal to one and a half years the average wage at HT. According to the operator, severance pa at HT is among the highest in Croatia and on average twice the legally prescribed amount.
