Telefonica plans NB-IoT launch in 2017 with Huawei
Huawei and Telefonica announced that they have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on developing the NB-IoT market in Europe and Latin America. The two companies have already started their first trials of NB-IoT and aim to launch commercial services in Europe and Latin America during 2017. 

They will also collaborate on the alignment of end-to-end NB-IoT solutions, interoperability, ecosystems, IoT platform evolution and joint marketing, to develop large-scale commercialization of IoT services over mobile networks and boost the number of connected devices in the next five years. 

The end-to-end NB-IoT solution developed by Huawei for the Spanish operator is designed to meet requirements for massive IoT services with low-power and wide-area (LPWA) coverage. The solution underpins flexible networking under various industry and use scenarios, Huawei said, and device and application partners also can easily get access to the solution for innovation and customization.

Vodafone to launch first NB-IoT services in Q1 2017

Vodafone has announced plans to launch its first NB-IoT services in the first quarter of 2017, in the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland and Spain.
