Telenor raises 5G home broadband speed to 500 Mbps, cuts prices on lower plans

Telenor is expanding its 5G home broadband services with a new top speed of 500 Mbps. The Norwegian operator is also cutting the price of the 60 and 100 Mbps wireless broadband plans.

The wireless home broadband service was first introduced last year on the 5G network. The service is already provided to over 90,000 households in Norway, the company said.

Under the new prices, the plan at 60 Mbps drops by NOK 50 to NOK 749 per month, and the 100 Mbps service is reduced by NOK 250 to NOK 749 as well. The speed provided depends on the network conditions at the customer's location and whether 5G is available. Existing customers will also benefit from the lower prices.

The new top speed of 500 Mbps costs NOK 1,299 per month, and Telenor also offers 300 Mbps for NOK 999 and 200 Mbps for NOK 849. After a fair use of 2,000 GB per month, customers may see their speed reduced to 5 Mbps. The required outdoor antenna costs NOK 1,999.

The wireless broadband service is also available for business customers, with new 5G speeds provided from 01 September.
