Vodafone Group hosts #BlackLivesMatter company-wide webinar

Vodafone Group hosted a #BlackLivesMatter company-wide webinar with Vodafone employees worldwide on 08 June.

The aim of the exercise was to listen to the stories of black Vodafone employees, learn from their experiences, and identify any changes needed for racial diversity progress. Vodafone Group CEO Nick Read said that diversity and inclusion are at the heart of Vodafone's purpose as a company, and that a diverse and inclusive society is a stronger one. 

Read said that Vodafone supported the #BlackLivesMatter movement and had a zero-tolerance approach to racism and racial discrimination within the company. He cited the company's progress in gender diversity, in LBGT+, and in supporting victims of domestic violence and abuse.

AT&T said it on track to meet its commitment to spend USD 3 billion with US Black-owned suppliers by year-end. The goal was set in February 2019, with the company saying it is 90 percent there. The commitment comes under the company's Supplier Diversity team, dedicated to making a significant economic impact in the Black business community. The initiative started in 1968, working with the Chicago Urban League and the Chicago Economic Development Corporation.
