Vodafone Italia expands 5G network to 20 more cities

Vodafone Italia has officially activated its 5G network in another 20 cities all over the country, up from the five cities covered since June 2019. The company’s 'Giga Network 5G' service is now available in Genoa, Bergamo, Brescia, La Spezia, Monza, Novara, Verona, Padua, Parma, Rimini, Trento, Trieste, Venice, Florence, Cagliari, Prato, Palermo, Bari, Catania and Reggio Calabria in addition to the five launch cities of Milan, Turin, Bologna, Rome and Naples.

In a statement, Vodafone said customers with compatible phones can now access the service in covered areas to download data at speeds five times faster than those reached with 4G technology. The company recently switched off its 3G network to free up space for 4G and to enhance 5G.
