Vodafone, Liberty end merger talks
Vodafone Group announced that it and Liberty Global have terminated their merger discussion. The group confirmed on 5 June that it was in the early stages of discussions about an exchange or combination of assets. Liberty Global told Bloomberg earlier this month that the two were struggling to reach agreement.

Liberty Global reported improving customer numbers in the third quarter, with the net addition of 320,000 new subscribers. Talks between Liberty Global and Vodafone Group over a potential exchange or merger of assets have hit trouble over Liberty's complicated tax arrangement, reports The Telegraph citing unnamed City sources.
