What Vodafone can do to secure regulatory approval for buying Liberty Global

Vodafone's share price has risen in the new year amid renewed rumours it has restarted talks on a merger with cable group Liberty Global. While the company officially broke off talks with Liberty Global last September, the logic of such a deal remains. We add here a short and somewhat speculative perspective on the regulatory aspects of the possible merger.
