ZTE to use Intel Atom processor in upcoming phones
ZTE has announced that it is working with Intel to develop smartphones based on the Intel Atom Processor Z2580 platform recently announced at MWC. The Z2580's dual-core processor with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology provides double the compute performance and up to three times the graphics capabilities of the previous generation Intel Atom Z2460 processor, while delivering the same battery life. ZTE previously used an Intel processor in its Grand X IN Android smartphone, released last year in several European markets and set to launch soon in France. ZTE intends to broaden its relationship with Intel to support its growth in the high performance smartphone segment, said Ao Wen, general manager of ZTE Europe Mobile Devices.
