Asus unveils AR/VR smartphone with both Tango, Daydream
Asus has unveiled at CES new smartphones with augmented and virtual reality features. The ZenFone AR will be the world's first smartphone supporting both Tango, Googles augmented reality system using sensors and computer-vision software, and Daydream, the mobile virtual reality platform for Android devices. 

The smartphone runs Qualcomm's high-end Snapdragon 821 processor and claims to be the first smartphone in the world with 8 GB RAM. It includes three cameras to support the AR experience - a 23MP main camera, motion-tracking camera and depth-sensing camera, and features a 5.7-inch WQHD Super Amoled display and Android 7.0. 

Asus also introduced the ZenFone 3 Zoom with advanced photo capabilities and a 5000mAh battery. It runs the Snapdragon 625 processor and comes with dual back cameras at 12 megapixels. One features a f/1.7-aperture, 25mm wide-angle lens and the second comes with a 59mm lens. Users can switch between the two to achieve a 2.3X optical zoom. The ZenFone 3 Zoom is also the first Asus smartphone with SuperPixel camera technology for very quick focus of photos at night or in low-light environments.

Asus redesigns home router with new Blue Cave

The white box features a round opening in the middle that emits a light blue light, leading to the name Asus Blue Cave. Asus sales fall in Q2, forecasts sequential growth in Q3

Asus reported a fall in revenues in the second quarter to TWD 93.94 billion, down 5 percent from a year earlier and 15 percent less than in the first quarter. Asus to unveil AR device at next CES

Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Asus will unveil an AR device at the 2017 edition of the CES tech event in Las Vegas, writes Cnet citing CEO Jerry Shen. Shen spoke with Cnet at Computex in Taipei.
