Oracle sought damages of USD 8.8 billion, claiming Google has made USD 21 billion in profit from the over 3 billion Android devices activated. The company also wanted USD 475 million in what it claims was lost revenue from licensing the Java technology to Google. Oracle said it plans to seek review of the verdict by the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington. The same court ruled in its favor in 2014, saying the Java APIs are eligible for copyright protection.
