Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 8 Pro with 64 MP camera from EUR 175
Xiaomi has unveiled in China the latest smartphones in its popular Redmi series, the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro. The company said the Note 8 Pro is the world’s first officially announced smartphone with a 64 MP camera, using Samsung’s GW1 64MP sensor. It also features a 6.5-inch 1080p screen, MediaTek's latest Helio G90T chipset and a quad-camera setup including the 64 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, two assistive 2 MP sensors and a 20 MP front-facing camera. The battery is 4,500 mAh and the phone has 6/8 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of storage.

The Redmi Note 8 will be available in China from 29 August in Black, Green and White from CNY 1,399 (EUR 175) for the 6GB RAM, 64 GB storage variant and CNY 1,799 (EUR 225) for the 8/128 GB option.

The Redmi Note 8, meanwhile, runs on a Snapdragon 665 chipset and also has a quad-camera setup, with the main sensor at 48 MP plus an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2 MP dedicated macro camera, a 2 MP depth sensor and a 13 MP selfie camera. It has a 6.3-inch display and comes with a 4,000mAh battery.

The Redmi Note 8 will be available in China from 10 September in Black, White and Dream Blue at a price starting at CNY 999 (around EUR 125) for the 4GB RAM, 64 GB storage version, rising to for CNY 1,199 (EUR 150) for the 6/64 GB option and CNY1,399 (EUR 175) for 6/128 GB.
