The owner of French company Altice, Patrick Drahi, is expected to push for Openreach to be spun off from BT Group after acquiring a 12.1 percent stake in BT, reports The Telegraph.
An unnamed source close to the French billionaire told the newspaper that he believed Openreach was undervalued by City investors and that more could be done to "improve the valuation of the asset". Analysts have warned that disruption caused by Openreach being spun off from the wider BT Group could slow down the roll-out of fibre broadband across the UK.
