Altice signs Ronaldo as brand ambassador
French telecom group Altice has signed a sponsorship agreement with Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo, making him the ambassador for Altice brands in all of its markets. In France, Ronaldo will be the brand ambassador for mobile and broadband operator SFR. Michel Combes, Altice COO and SFR chairman, said the group's ambition in succeeding with its industrial project is reflected by its partnership with one of the biggest sport stars in the world and the world's best footballer. Altice said it will soon launch an ad campaign fronted by Ronaldo in France, Portugal and Israel. The drive will be extended to Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, the Dominican Republic and the US.

Altice wins Premier League rights in France - report

Altice has scooped Canal Plus for the TV rights in France to the English Premier League, reports L'Equipe. Sources familiar with the matter told French paper Les Echos that Altice offered over EUR 300 million for the football rights for three years, from 2016 to 2019. French broadband and mobile operator Numericable-SFR informed staff representatives that the Numericable brand would be dropped, reports Le Parisien, citing an internal document.
