Five EU test sites prepare for driverless car road trials

Friday 30 June 2017 | 16:55 CET | News
The Belgian city of Anvers, alongside four other sites within the EU, will be starting work on a project in the coming months which aims to test autonomous driving on public roads from 2019, reports Gazet van Antwerpen. Ahead of these trials, Anvers has received funding to equip two sections of motorway with sensors designed to guide connected cars. The other four sites chosen to participate in the project are motorway lanes in the vicinity of Lyon (France) and Vigo (Spain), and between Rotterdam-The Hague (the Netherlands) and Nuremberg-Munich (Germany).
