India to offer licenses for 5G trials

Wednesday 31 July 2019 | 07:54 CET | News
India has issued guidelines for 5G trials across all available spectrum bands, without restricting any domestic company from applying for a licence to participate in these trials. According to India's Department of Communications, Indian entities involved in research and development, manufacturing, as well as telecommunication operators and academia can acquire a licence for up to two years to roll out 5G trials, The Economic Times reports. The government has set a fee of INR 5,000 for the trial licence.
