Third of Dutch homes connected to fibre
A third of Dutch households are now connected to FTTH (fibre to the home), according to the 2016 edition of Telecompaper’s annual FTTH report. The market increased by around 200,000 connections in 2015, with Reggefiber accounting for 80 percent of the growth. This is a slowdown compared to 2014 when over 400,000 connections were added. 

At the end of 2015, the total number of FTTH homes passed reached 2.51 million, and FTTH services were available in 227 municipalities. More than 1 million homes subscribed to the services by March 2016. Reggefiber, owned by KPN, leads the market with 2.16 million homes passed. Penetration is highest in the province of Flevoland, with over 90 percent of addresses connected to fibre.

Telecompaper estimates that the number of homes passed with FTTH will grow to around 3.8 million in 2020, for a household penetration of 47 percent.

The Netherlands has passed 1 million fibre broadband subscribers, according to the latest figures from market regulator ACM. The number of retail connections rose from 991,000 in Q2 2016 to 1.03 million at the end of September. Dutch consumer interest in FTTH falling - survey

Fewer Dutch consumers expect fibre to become the norm for broadband in the next ten years. The percentage fell to 48 percent in the latest survey by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel from 55 percent in 2015. FTTH in the Netherlands 2016

Each year, since 2008, Telecompaper publishes its FTTH report, analyzing the Dutch fibre to the home market. Our FTTH database, called the Telecompaper FTTH Monitor, contains all local and regional FTTH projects in the Netherlands on a detailed scale. Dutch FTTH subscribers pass 1 million

The number of FTTH subscribers in the Netherlands passed the milestone of 1 million in March, according to the Telecompaper Dutch FTTH Database. Reggefiber network penetration reaches 40%

Reggefiber increased the number of homes passed by its FTTH network by 36,000 in the fourth quarter of 2015, to a total 2.162 million. CIF targets rural areas in FTTH expansion

Dutch investment fund CIF plans to focus more on expanding fibre infrastructure in rural areas. In recent months it's been rolling out in outlying areas of Hilvarenbeek, and it's working to do the same with Cogas in the Twente region. Reggefiber grows to 2.1 million homes passed

KPN's fibre network operator Reggefiber has added 52,000 homes to its FTTH network during the second quarter of this year to reach 2.1 million homes passed on 30 June.
