US-based social video platform Triller teams up with India's JioSaavn streaming service

Triller, a US-based social video plaform in competition with TikTok, has teamed up with JioSaavn, a streaming service owned by India’s Reliance. Under the deal, Triller will be embedded into the streamer, which means that any music watched within JioSaavn will automatically be a Triller music video. There will also be a button, “Make a Triller Video” on the main screen of the platform. The move is expected to exponentially increase the number of Triller users and usage. JIo Saavn has about 300 million users.

Reliance Industries’ Jio Platforms has attracted billions lately from investors, with Google the latest to say it will pay USD 4.5 billion for a stake. JioSaavn has key partnerships with Amazon, Shazam, Twitter, Facebook and Sony Music, among others.

Triller is majority-owned by Ryan Kavanaugh and Bobby Sarnevesht's Proxima.
