Viaplay to exclusively show Dutch edition of Dragon's Den

Viaplay said the Dragon’s Den show will be its first Dutch local production, on an exclusive basis. The format is produced in over 40 countries and will now launch in the Netherlands during the spring. Viaplay will come to the country on 1 March with a combination of local and original productions, international films and series, kids content and premium live sports. 

This Dutch season of the Dragon’s Den will feature Won Yip, Shawn Harris, Pieter Schoen, Manon van Essen and Bas Witvoet. 

The format is distributed around the world by Sony Pictures Television under a number of variant titles, including ‘Shark Tank’, ‘Lions’ Den’, and ‘Dragons’ Den’. It will soon begin its 19th season on the BBC in the UK.

Ziggo, KPN bring out introductory offers for Viaplay

NENT's streaming service Viaplay has agreed promotional offers with the biggest TV providers in the Netherlands for its launch there in March. All Ziggo customers will be able to try Viaplay for the first four months for EUR 20.00 instead of the standard price of EUR 13.99 per month. The offer comes in the run-up to the new Formula 1 racing season, set to start on 20 March. For new customers, KPN will offer Viaplay free for the first nine months, which means viewers will be able to watch the entire Formula

Viaplay appoints new head of international partnerships

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) service Viaplay has appointed Yoram Levi its new head of international partnerships, with effect from 10 January. In his new role, Levi will focus on commercial business development, planning and negotiating with wholesale partners, and expanding sales channels in Viaplay's international markets. The Viaplay streaming service will launch in the Netherlands on 1 March.

Viaplay appoints first executive producers for the Netherlands

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) has appointed Kennard Bos and Martijn de Bruin as its first executive producers for Viaplay in the Netherlands. Viaplay said Bos and De Bruin will be responsible for developing local Viaplay Originals, an "important spearhead" for the service.

Viaplay announces partners, pricing for March launch in Netherlands

Viaplay, the streaming service of Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) will launch in the Netherlands on 1 March 2022, with premium live sports, Viaplay Originals, Hollywood films and series, and content for children. The single package will cost EUR 13.99 per month and become available as a direct subscription and through distribution partners such as VodafoneZiggo and KPN. The launch will take Viaplay's footprint to 11 countries, with at least five more markets to follow by the end of 2023.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has won Premier League rights for the Netherlands, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, from 2022 to 2028. The six-season deal expands NENT Group's rights for the competition to nine European countries. The group also has exclusive rights for Sweden, Denmark and Finland to 2028, and in Norway from 2022 to 2028.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast live darts events from the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in the Netherlands on its Viaplaystreaming service from 2022.
