Xiaomi reopens 1,800 shops, says supply chain is at 80%

Xiaomi said its Wuhan office, with 2,000 employees, now has a zero infection rate and that it has reopened over 1,800 Mi Home and authorised Mi Stores in Mainland China. The company has not changed its 5G product launch strategy and expects at least 10 new 5G smartphone models to hit the market this year. The launch of the Redmi K30 Pro should go smoothly on 24 March, as scheduled, the company said.

Supply chain at 80%

Resumption of the company’s supply chain is now at 80 percent. Xiaomi said it provided financial assistance to help relieve the cash flow issues faced by its factories, and to accelerate the recovery of production lines and capacities.

Donations

The company noted a number of donations made. In China, the company gave supply packs to hospitals based in Hubei Province, with Xiaomi Mi Pads, thermometers, and smart washing machines.

Over the past few weeks, donations have also been made to Europe, to counter a shortage in health materials. The company has send several tens of thousands of face masks to Italy, for the Veneto Region, with donations following up to France and Spain.

Finally, a batch of anti-epidemic materials, organised by Xiaomi and Wuhan University, arrived in South Korea a few days ago, with 200,000 surgical masks, 100,000 standard masks, 10,000 protective suits and 10,000 protective masks.
