HBO Max to launch in 39 Latin American countries in June

AT&T has confirmed that WarnerMedia’s streaming platform HBO Max will officially launch across a total of 39 Latin American and Caribbean territories in June. It will be the first time the platform is available outside of the US. HBO Max will include a wide range of local original productions under the Max Originals brand, a children’s catalogue as well as content from all of WarnerMedia’s brands such as HBO, Warner Bros, New Line, DC, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV and Adult Swim.

The company said the streaming service will be available via a new HBO Max app and that existing HBO GO direct-billed customers, as well as those who are billed through eligible partners, will get instant access to HBO Max. The existing HBO GO service in Latin America and the Caribbean will be phased out with subscribers able to access an experience that mirrors that available in the US.

Following the launch in Latin America and the Caribbean, the existing HBO-branded streaming services in Europe (the Nordics, Spain, Central Europe and Portugal) are set to be upgraded to HBO Max later this year.
