Telefonica Germany starts selling cable broadband across Vodafone network

Telefonica Germany has started marketing broadband internet service over Vodafone’s network, after implementing their wholesale agreement signed in 2019. Customers can subscribe on the O2 website, hotline and in shops as soon as they reopen following the restrictions put in place to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Telefonica has been marketing the cable connections in selected O2 shops since November. Now, cable connections are available across all O2 sales channels, and the service is accessible from 24 million cable households. This number will increase over the next few years following the partnership with Vodafone.

Telefonica cooperates with other network operators as well. It provides customers with VDSL over Deutsche Telekom infrastructure, and in future will add the Tele Columbus cable network. Telefonica also cooperates regionally for example with Vitroconnect/Ewe Tel and Wilhelm.tel and uses its own mobile network to offer wireless broadband.
