Sigfox gets investment from Samsung, integration in Artik
Sigfox announced a new investment from Samsung Ventures and plans to integrate its IoT network protocol in the new Samsung Artik platform. Terms of the investment were not disclosed. 

Announced last month, Samsung Artik is a range of modules, software and developer tools for consumer and business applications in the Internet of Things. Samsung has now agreed to support Sigfox's method of internet connectivity on Artik. 

Sigfox's ultra narrow band technology offers low-cost, energy-efficient connectivity for small-message communication, as an alternative to M2M methods such as mobile networks, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. The Sigfox network is already available in multiple countries and is expanding quickly. The integration with Samsung's platform will allow developers to activate the network through a cloud connectivity subscription.

Sigfox network expands to Luxembourg

Sigfox announced an agreement to bring its wireless network for the Internet of Things to Luxembourg. Sigfox rolls out its network in Denmark

SigFox and IoT Denmark have announced plans to roll out the SigFox network in the Scandinavian country. As a SigFox Network Operator, IoT Denmark will manage deployment of the network, work with Danish developers and businesses to expand the Danish IoT ecosystem and provide connectivity subscriptions to customers. Network deployment will cover some areas of the country by this summer and is expected to be completed by May 2016.

Sigfox to launch M2M network in Germany

The French start-up company Sigfox has developed a mobile network designed for machine-to-machine communications and announced its launch in Germany for this year, wiwo.de reports. The company uses a freely available frequency spectrum to transmit signals from device to device but needs radio stations every 40 kilometers. Negotiations with potential partners from within the industry are in progress. Seven new investors recently provided EUR 100 million for the expansion.
