Telefonica, E-Plus to have better network quality by 2017
The new CEO of Telefonica Germany, Thorsten Dirks, said that after its acquisition of E-Plus, the carrier will have the same network quality as its competitors Telekom and Vodafone by 2017 at the latest, according to German newspaper Handelsblatt in an interview with Dirks. Telefonica Deutschland and E-Plus ranked in third and fourth places for their network quality and LTE expansion, said Handelsblatt. Dirks considers that the merger will enable it to meet the requirements to catch up. He also said that he will only partially follow the trend towards offering bundles, as customers in Germany appreciate flexibility and want to select and combine individual products.
