Telefonica fined over EUR 6 mln for Fusion price increases
Telefonica has been fined respectively EUR 6.23 million and EUR 30,000 by the governments of Andalucia and Madrid for how it imposed price increases in 2015 for its Fusion packages. The fines result from complaints filed by the consumer rights group Facua

The Andalucia fine includes EUR 870,000 for practices such as misleading advertising and unfair terms, after Telefonica earlier promised at the launch of Fusion that the prices would be valid "forever". It then started raising prices from early 2015 and has just announced another hike

In addition, the Andalucia fine includes EUR 5.36 million charged illegally to Telefonica customers. Facua had claimed Analusian customers were owed as much as EUR 70 million and called for tougher sanctions against the company. The group has also taken Telefonica to court over the price increases, with a hearing in Madrid planned in March.
