Telenor Group said it is unifying its Nordic IoT portfolio and its global Telenor Connexion under the brand Telenor IoT with immediate effect. It said the new operating model will provide the best capabilities and competence to every customer, now and in the future. Telenor is bringing together 200 full-time IoT specialists to supply a uniform product portfolio and go-to-market strategy.
Mats Lundquist, CEO of Telenor Connexion and manager of Telenor IoT, said the new operating model reinforces its competitive edge for the 5G era, and makes its product portfolio easier to buy from. There are also benefits of scale for new technology investments.
A new Nordic Solution Office is being established to unify IoT sales resources in the Nordic region, led by Nordic Solution Officer Paulo Vergos, who has extensive B2B sales and IoT experience at Telenor.
Telenor said it has more than 17 million connected devices active in over 190 countries. It said it is among the ten 10 IoT operators globally, the top three in Europe by volume, and is the "clear market leader" in the Nordic region. The Telenor IoT offering will be supplied by Telenor IoT specialists in eighteen countries in Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
