Belgian operator Mobistar has confirmed its name change to Orange and started an associated media campaign. It also announced a range of new offers for customers. The first is the expansion of its cable broadband and TV services nationwide. First launched in February in select areas, the fixed services are now available to 98 percent of Belgian households.
In addition, it will no longer be required to be an Orange mobile customer in order to take the cable services from June. However, Orange will still focus on convergent offers and require new customers to take both mobile and fixed.
For the TV service, Orange announced six new channels from June, including Disney XD. It's also introducing a mobile application, called Orange TV, that allows subscribers to control the TV box from a smartphone or tablet.
For mobile customers, Orange announced an offer of free roaming in the EU this summer. This applies for customers on its animal postpaid plans, from 01 June to 31 August. The operator also will be launching faster 4G+ services in Belgium in June and introducing a range of 4G routers called the Flybox, Airbox and Airbox Auto.
Finally to thanks customers for their loyalty, Orange is throwing a concert 11 May with the band Hooverphonic. Around 5,000 of its most loyal customers are invited to attend free. Another 1,000 customers will be invited to attend matches during the Euro tournament in France this summer. Orange has partnered with Belgian player Kevin De Bruyne for a number of events around the Euro.
