Samsung Electronics has announced the upcoming launch of three new models in its monitor lineup ahead of the start of CES 2022, including the world’s first panel to feature 4K 240Hz technology. The Odyssey Neo G8 is a 32-inch gaming-oriented display with 4K (3,840×2,160) resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, a 1000R curved screen and Quantum Mini LED backlighting. It can reach up to 2000 nits of peak brightness in HDR content and a million-to-one static contrast ratio as well as a 1ms response time, said Samsung.
The company also unveiled the ultra-slim (11.4mm) Smart Monitor M8, a 32-inch UHD panel that comes with a webcam and a range of built-in streaming and remote working apps, such as Google Duo. It also features a wireless remote control as well as a USB Type-C port enabling 65W charging connections so that it can act as an all-in-one workstation and smart TV.
Finally, the Samsung S8 comes in 32-inch and 27-inch sizes with UHD resolution and is described as the world's first monitor to be certified as glare-free by Underwriters Laboratories. It’s aimed at creators and designers who need the highest levels of accuracy and range when working in the office or at home. Features include 98 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space, VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification on the 32-inch model and wired LAN support. All three monitors are expected to be made available in the first half of 2022.
