InterDigital sues Nokia, Huawei, ZTE

InterDigital has filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission against Nokia, Huawei Technologies and ZTE alleging patent infringement. InterDigital is asking for a ban on future sales and imports to the US of the three companies' mobile devices. The complaint covers WCDMA and cdma2000 mobile phones, USB sticks, mobile hotspots and tablets, as well as components of such devices. InterDigital also filed a complaint in the US District Court for the District of Delaware alleging that the companies' 3G devices infringe the same InterDigital patents. InterDigital said it held talks with Nokia, Huawei and ZTE in an attempt to license its technology but was unable to reach an agreement, prompting the legal action.
