Netflix confirms European expansion later this year

US streaming video service Netflix announced plans to launch in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Luxembourg later this year. The service will allow customers to watch a selection of Hollywood, local and global TV series and films, commercial-free, on TVs, tablets, phones, game consoles and computers. People interested in becoming Netflix members in these countries can sign up at Netflix.com to receive an e-mail alert when the service has launched.
