Apple quarterly revenues up 36% with new sales records in all regions

Apple announced revenues of USD 81.4 billion for its fiscal third quarter to June, up 36 percent from a year earlier. While growth slowed from the 54 percent annual increase in sales in the previous quarter, Apple said it set new revenue records in all regions. The company's net profit nearly doubled, to USD 21.7 billion from USD 11.3 billion in the same period of 2020, and Apple maintained the quarterly dividend at 22 cents a share.

The iPhone remained the company's main growth driver, with revenues up 50 percent year-on-year to USD 39.6 billion. Services contributed USD 17.5 billion in sales, up by a third from a year earlier, and Mac sales grew by 16 percent to USD 8.2 billion. Wearables, home devices and accessories generated USD 8.8 billion in sales, up 36 percent, and the iPad recorded revenues of USD 7.4 billion, up 12 percent. 

Growth was strongest in the Greater China region, where sales rose 58 percent to USD 14.8 billion, while Europe and the Americas each grew 33 percent, to respectively USD 18.9 billion and USD 35.9 billion in revenues. Japan was up 30 percent to USD 6.5 billion, and revenues in the rest of Asia rose 28 percent to USD 5.4 billion.
